Reading Minute

On CNN they posted an article called 'Saturday Night Live' not funny, N.Y. governor's office says
on how “Saturday Night Live” is going way too far on mocking politicians. This weekend they were portraying the legally blind governor of New York Governor David Paterson. Fred Armisen took part in this he portrayed the New York Governor and Seth Meyers also made an appearance as well. Even though “SNL” is famous for mocking politicians and newsmaker they just went too far. David Paterson is the first legally blind in the U.S Senate and the first black governor of New York. What they did to portray David, Fred was looking the wrong way and walking in front of the camera when it wasn’t his turn to speak. Armisen said in the skit, “come on, I’m a blind man who loves cocaine who was suddenly appointed governor of New York. My life is an actual plot from a Richard Pryor movie.” People found it really offensive especially with people with disabilities. The governor just responded by saying they can find different ways to be funny without being offensive. As you can see many people were offended like the National Federation of the Blind even commented like saying it’s “absolutely wrong”. “SNL” hasn’t responded yet though to CNN’s request for comment. “SNL” should just be careful and not be really offensive.
